boot from cdrom rx2600
Howdy,
With a bootable cdrom in my drive 'blk' shows up in 'map -r' & not 'fsX' unfortunately so I can't boot off it.
Does it need to be a DVD & not a CDROM??
This CD is bootable (I've tried 2 different CDs that boot in other computers (regular PCs) but not in the rx2600.... help???
I want to put Linux on it...
thanks!!
Mark

Re: boot from cdrom rx2600
Hi Mark,
I have created serveral bootable CD's for the rx2600. I had to use software capable of creating a boot partition on the cdrom from a disk partition on a PC. The disk partition used to create the boot partition must be set up as a FAT32 file system and the boot code needed to be in a directory called /EFI. You might trying looking at how the firmware update for rx2600 is done using an ISO image for additional structure help. It can be found at the following URL:

Have Fun, Eric
