ILO on rx3600

Well I switched the Primary console to be serial.

And the secondary to vga but I still cann't login at the MP login.

Sould I disable the VGA?

Did you try the crossed LAN cable already?

I did sucessfully login with a serial connection to my laptop via hyperterm.

If I used a crossed lan from my laptop to the ILO on the server what would the IP be or would I just try hitting the mp ?

Configure your PC to a fixed and similar IP, for example if MP has a fixed

10.10.10.10

then PC should have something like

10.10.10.11

Both must be fixed, not DHCP.

Took a while to find a crossover cable.
But yes it works with a crossover cable to my laptop

This was my guess - there must be something wrong on the network, not on the iLO/MP.

Just FYI.

We moved the server offsite (which is why I wanted the ILO to work). It's still on our network but on a different subnet and guess what!! You guessed it, the ILO is working just fine. I can even get to it in a browser.
