Re: mc990x ERROR cannot read BIOS file /common/bios.fd
> [...] I am not familiar at all with MC990x [...]
Same here; I've never seen or heard of one. And with my weak psychic
powers, I can't guess what your "this customer" did to get these
displays, what the indicator lights show, or anything else.
But, knowing nothing, if I saw anything like this:
chassis - on: 0, off: 2, unknown: 0, disabled: 0
then I'd be looking for some kind of "power on" command.
And if I found one, and then saw this:
ERROR: power command failed
then I might look at the power supply hardware.
My quick Web search for:
mc990x
found a User Guide:
https://media.howard.com/CNET/USER_MANUAL/C95F2C3E-97F5-4C0A-B6A9-70E57F6E3685.pdf
(What did yours find?)
Perhaps one of us should be reading it. (I nominate you.) I'd also
expect more/better documentation at: hpe.com

Re: mc990x ERROR cannot read BIOS file /common/bios.fd
Hello Steven, thanks for your answer and ideas!
Unfortunately, the link didn't worked for me.
Related to the actual system and the current state, it has been put on hold, as the customer had a medical emergency and is out for this week.
So, there's nothing else to do here for a while.
But thanks a lot for taking the time and for the ideas! Kudos to you.
