Telneting MP port via IP is not working. So we were thinking of changing MP IP address...

Once at the MAin menu, type cm for Command Menu, and then lc to change the network parameters of the MP.

I would expect to get the MP by pressing CTRL b. What type of server is it?

Here's what you want:

Most important commands that an SA will need are these:
RS - reboot server when O/S is non-responsive
TC - Transfer of Control. This is a firmware reset. The same as RS, unless you're using nPars. Makes a difference then.
HE - Help. List of all commands related to the sub level / sub directory that you are currently in.
SYSREV - Display a list of all firmware versions. (* good one *)
PS - check your redundent power modules. This one is used a lot.
MA - Return to Main Menu.
CO - return to O/S (* console *)
CTRL-B - Enter the GSP / MP
