Replacing Memory

My memory rx5670 with 2GB (4x256MB) PC2100 ECC REG have an Error,Can I replacement with 1 GB (1x 1 GHz) PC2100 ECC REG in only one slot memory ?

Memory in the RX5670 is replaced in Quads. All DIMMs in the quad must be the same size. Check the Installing Memory section of the manual at this link: http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/postanswer.do?threadid=1448374&forumId=1&closedFlag=0
