Setting up 8620 Server
Hi
I am new to Npar vpar concept,
I am working on 8620 Server to set it up,
and Gone through the documents to set it up
but its bit confusing.
It is a new system without anything loaded.
Can anybody give a brief idea what are needed
to partition the server and start loading OS
I am trying to use system management Homepage
to configure this but I am not able to connect
to the Remote Complex.
Any OS need to be installed first to configure?
Thanks in Advance . Please give your Suggestions and querries if some more info is needed.
Regards
Jayakrishnan G Naik

Re: Setting up 8620 Server
Hi,
your rx8620 server can have 1 or 2 nPars or even 4 nPars with an additional I/O chassis.
Read more:
http://www.docs.hp.com/en/5991-1247B/index.html
In each nPar you can install several vPars.
The most easy method to handle the partition management is from a running partition (se documentation linked above).
Read more about vPars:
http://docs.hp.com/en/oshpux11iv2.html#Virtual%20Partitions
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
