Does anyone know of a way to disable processors on an HP rx7640? Instead of removing them physically, i just wanted to disable them for some performance testing. I was able to do this on the older PA-RISC systems but not sure if there is a way to do it on the new integrity line.

system is running windows 2003 Ent

You can use EFI shell command : cpuconfig

Keep in mind that cpuconfig from EFI enables/disables entire processors and does not work down at the level of individual cores.

Depending on what you want to do you might also consider creating psets with cores in them and then simply not running anything there. The pset documentation may be a good place to start there. If you are running 11i v3 then you can also enable/disable hyperthreading on a pset by pset basis.
