Network design and dimensioning

Hi, I need to design a network which will be used by three systems: BMS, CFTV and Access Control. I did a fast survey and there will be almost one hundred of cameras, fifty ACS controllers and twenty BMS devices (sensors, actuars, controllers).

As far as I know, this could be considered a small size network, so I was planing to use a colapsed core network. The problem is that before I started in the project, the network equipments were already bought, so I just have two HPe 5130 JG936A for this design to serve as distribution/core switch. It is a multilayer switch and it has good part of the features it needs to play this role, but I'm not sure if it can handle all the network traffic or if it has the ammount of memory, CPU, processing power it should have for this.

I do not have so much experience and knowledge in network designing and dimensioning, and I couldn't find any good source to help me.

I'll be very appeciated if someone could share its experience and give me any help on this.

BR.

Re: Network design and dimensioning

Hi,

You can refer below link for quick specs of HPE 5130 switch (JG936A ) for memory, CPU, processing power.

I believe you are conencting BMS, CFTV and Access Control directly to this switch on POE ports?

Thanks!
