Strictly speaking, CentOS is not "supported" on ProLiant, it is enabled. Supported implies a commitment to make things work and to resolve issues, but as with all community releases (Debian, Ubuntu, etc.) there is no way to escalate an issue with a guarantee of resolution, so best efforts are the only thing possible, as opposed to commercial releases where there is a service-level agreement in place.

However, should any issues arise you won't get support as the OS is not officially supported by HP.

And problems between RHEL and CenTOS should be "similar".
YMMV though.... I prefer CentOS though since it is free and support is just a Google away.
