http://www.hp.com/go/proliantlinux --> CentOS

Strictly speaking, CentOS is not "supported" on ProLiant, it is enabled. Supported implies a commitment to make things work and to resolve issues, but as with all community releases (Debian, Ubuntu, etc.) there is no way to escalate an issue with a guarantee of resolution, so best efforts are the only thing possible, as opposed to commercial releases where there is a service-level agreement in place.

So, If I buy Proliant DL300 G5/G6, It is possible to install CentOS on it?

Re: CentOS supported HP server

Yes, you can install, but you won't get support.

Re: CentOS supported HP server

Since CentOS is a clone of RHEL, any HP servers that support RHEL will work with CentOS as well. So you can install CentOS 5.4 on a ProLiant Server that supports RHEL.

However, should any issues arise you won't get support as the OS is not officially supported by HP.

Re: CentOS supported HP server

And technically - most support tools, etc should work with CentOS.

And problems between RHEL and CenTOS should be "similar".

YMMV though.... I prefer CentOS though since it is free and support is just a Google away.
