5/133 LS Question...
All,
I have recently been given an HP Netserver 5/133 LS, and I am in the process of installing RedHat.
Since this forum has helped me with other issues, I have two questions to ask:
1) I have noticed that the fan within the power supply does not run when the machine is on. Since I have no manuals (and can not find any on the HP site), is this normal or should I pull the power supply and replace the fan ASAP? The system has not shown any signs of over heating with a few hours of use.
2) On the front panel, there are three buttons: Power / Reset / and a 3rd. Does anyone have a clue what this 3rd button does?
Thanks!
Anthony

Re: 5/133 LS Question...
Anthony,
Try here for information on your LS. It is difficult to find on the HP web site but they do still have most of the manuals and drivers for discontinued systems.

I have been using on old LD Pro for Redhat 9 and it works just fine. You will find that the on-board video does not work too well but you will prabably be able to add a video card in one of the PCI slots. I use an older S3 with 4mb of memory and am able to get 1027x768 with Redhat.
Hopes this helps
Regards,
John
