Hi, i?m tryng to install a HD larger than 8GB in Netserver E30 and system hangs on boot. I?ve already installed latest bios version and nothing. This version 4.05.04 supports this size??? Why system didn?t boot like at least a 8GB??

Re: Adding IDE HD on Netserver E30
The system is too old to support over 8GB HDD. Most HP servers do not support IDE HDD anyways.

Re: Adding IDE HD on Netserver E30
My name is Kelvin,
I have problem also the adding IDE HDD. My server is netserver E30, currently we are using the SCSI hdd (by card). Now i want to add in the IDE HDD to make it second drive, I already follow the instruction giving by the vendor but still can not work. The error message was came out "Operating System Not Found" when server restart. Even though the CMOS start up center option setting are correct!
Can you please give me the solution how to solve this problem. Thanks!!!

Re: Adding IDE HD on Netserver E30
Hi Kelvin. Yun cannot add an IDE HDD when you boot from SCSI HDD (connnected to card). By default, in most old server BIOS microcode, the first device to boot is IDE controller. If you add an HDD, the bios try to boot from it and cannot be modified. The solution is install OS on IDE HDD and use SCSI HDD as secondary disc.
