Booting problem in LH4r server

Hi!

As you can see in other posts that i've wrote recently i bought a LH4r server and i'm having a lot of problems.

The main problem is that i'm having a lot of BIOS /POST problems:

-Sometimes says me that the Power-on password is corrupted but i clear it (with the switch) and works perfectly until i have the same problem later

-Sometimes i reboot and keyboard don't work, i hit space bar to pass the RAM check and don't work

-Sometimes i start normally

When i power off and power on the server all works normally but when i reboot i have always some problem

In the front panel sometimes is a red flashing led

What is the problem? Can anyone help me?

Thx

Re: Booting problem in LH4r server

The front panel LED, red in color, means system problem detected. I would go into the Front Panel Menu using the keys and view the system error report to see what is being detected. This, may be, will answer the question of what is problematic.
But it does not sound good.

Re: Booting problem in LH4r server

Also you could try flashing to the latest BIOS to see if there could be a BIOS problem.
You can get a manual, BIOS and other support at netserver.hp.com

Re: Booting problem in LH4r server

Mario, did you try this (long) link on HP's site:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=15383&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=50440&swLang=13&taskId=135&swEnvOID=54

You might try the Firmware for HP NetRAID [D4943A] and HP NetRAID-1[ D4992A] A.04.03

There are other firmware drivers here as well.

Hope this helps!

Re: Booting problem in LH4r server

It didn't solve the problem. Maybe the board broken? or BIOS corrupt? i cant solve this big problem...

Have you tried replacing the CMOS battery? If it's losing config info between power-ups it could be a dead of dying battery.
