Does HP net e200 server support 512mb cach

One of my clients has a HP net e200 server for which they had ordered 512mb of ram. But they have been given 256mb cache, the reason being hp has stopped floating 512mb ram due to some clock speed problem. Is it true? And if yes, what is the problem?
