E800 and FDISK

I just bought an E800, which has a SCSI drive and no operating system. I was trying to load the OS (WinNT4.0) by booting with a dos bootable, and then FDISK'ing the harddrive (and then running the install). but FDISK can't find the disk. is it because i don't have the scsi driver? Is there a solution on one of those CD's that came with the E800?

Thanks in advance

hi
to run fdisk, you don't need any scsi driver, be sure the hdd apair at boot time, and check eventualy in the bios of the symbios controller tht the hdd is recognised, if not, check for disconect cables of bended pins.

Re: E800 and FDISK

Aha! (though there isn't one piece of documentation on this in the box) I just got off the phone with HP tech support. the Navigator CD is bootable and will perform the pre-setup for the NT install process. Just make sure that you go to the
http://www.hp.com/cposupport/servers/software/e800drvnt40.exe.html
page to download the latest NT drivers. use them when the NT server asks if you want to browse or search for the drivers (in the install wizard).

I wish they had mentioned something in any one of the manuals!
