Re: Error message in LC2000
Hello Mohamed,
Please check the link below for some background info related to the error itself:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=lpn14088&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN
Is your LC2000 equipped with a low noise fan kit?

Re: Error message in LC2000
Hi Mohamed,
The Management Controller Self-Test failure is a known issue with a fairly easy fix:
Step #1:
Download the latest BIOS revision from the following link: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=50440&prodNameId=19399&swEnvOID=54&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ns-10050-2
When you run the application it will ask you for one formatted floppy and ask you to specify the drive letter of the floppy drive.
Step #2
Boot from the floppy created in step #1 and choose option 1 to begin the flash update.
Step #3
Press to enter the CMOS Setup. Go to the Exit tab and choose "Clear System Configuration and Exit." You may need to re-enter setup by pressing and re-save config before proceeding.
Step #4
Boot the server from a DOS Boot floppy. If you do not have access to one, you can download an image from http://www.24by7.ca/files/boot98se.exe
*Note: this file and website are not affiliated with Hewlett Packard and using it will be at your own risk.
Step #5
From a DOS Prompt, replace the BIOS update floppy and execute the following command:
A:\> flashmmc l2km_us.bin
*Note: there is no interactive screen; the update takes place in the background. Wait for a prompt to reappear.
Step #6
When the prompt returns, execute the following command:
A:\> sdredit -w -f list_lc2k.sdr
*Note: Unlike the previous step, this one is interactive and you will see activity.
Step #7
Repeat steps #2 & 3.
When you are referring to the H & F revisions, this is for the Management Controller, not the whole system BIOS. If you have an H revision Management Controller it means that you have an LC2000 U3, not an LC2000. The current BIOS revision is 4.06.04 RM.
Hope this helps,
Sean T. Craig Sr. C.E.T., M.C.P.
