Hard Drives on Netserver E800

Hello. I work for a little public school that has a couple of E800 Netservers. As far as I can tell the Hard Drives don't work. I have a little bit of exprience with regular pc's, not so with servers, and SCSI devices like the hard drives that this servers have. Is it possible to use regular IDE Hard Drives on these servers? I have been looking at prices for the replacement drives and they are too expensive for a little school like ours. Can you offer any comments or suggestions? Thanks

I seem to have done something wrong since now the machine does not recognize the CD-ROM, or Hard Drive in the IDE Cable.

Re: Hard Drives on Netserver E800

Hi Jose,
If you are connecting both IDE CDROM & IDE Hard Disk to same channel then ensure to set One as Master and Other as Slave. If you are going to use only one IDE Hard disk then it can be put in other channel provided you have spare IDE Cable. Also check in BIOS that both of your IDE Channels are enabled.
