HP LC2000 Navigator CD

I am looking for the HP LC2000 Navigator CD as I can not load Windows 2000 without the Drivers.

their is no need to have the navigator cd if you do the Windows installation manually with the MSFT cd media. The navigator is their to assist you and automate the OS installation or to do f/w upgrades or provide driver diskette generation but those on the cd are outdated anyhow.

Download the eventual missing drivers from the hp.com website and load them from floppy (using F6 in the setup phase to manually load drivers) if it prevents you from succesfully installing w2k

It references a different model of Netserver but the same informatin holds true for all models of Netserver. This question has been asked several times lately on the forums and the best answer I can give you is that HP no longer provides, nor does it recommend using, the Netserver Navigator CD for installing your operating system. It was handy for NT4 in that it allowed you to exceed the 4GB limitation (2GB in FAT) for the primary partition.

Find out which model of NetRAID Controller you have and download it from the HP Driver Download page. Extract the files to the root of your floppy disk, and use when Windows Setup starts. When it is done copying the executive files, you will be given the option to specify 3rd party mass storage drivers from the diskette.

You also have the option of calling the Netserver Support desk as HP is currently providing free phone support for this model of Netserver. You can reach them by phoning 1-800-474-6836 and saying "Netserver" at the prompt. They will be happy to walk you through the process.
