HP Netserver E800 Problem

we have many HP Netserver E800 machines with
two Ulra 3SCSI HDDs attached to HP Ultra 3
SCSI controller. HP DAT 24i tape drive is
attached to the build-in SCSI controller.
we install Unixware 7.1.1 & Informix dynamic
server 2000 on these servers, but we have a
serious problem that in other machines we
use the ontape utility to back up and
restore our database. These machines uses
64K block size. On the HP servers when we
use 64K Block size, the Message "errno 22"
appears every time and we cann't restore the
data. On the HP machines Max block size that
allow us to back-up & restore correctly is
16K. So could you assist us in solving this
problem??

Best regards,

Re: HP Netserver E800 Problem

I believe what you mean is that you have an Ultra 3SCSI Raid controller to which the HDD are connected and the tape is connected to the on board SCSI , If this is the case then Nothe that:
When you construct the Raid the default block size is 64k and there is no migration path to other block sizes ,the only way to do it is to back up everything and then re-creat you raid and make sure you choose the block size option and choose 16k
Good luck
