HP NetServer LH 6000 issues with KVM
I have two HP NetServer LH 6000's and they are connected to a Belkin 16 port KVM. Only one is in production so i can test with the other. The production server is having an issue during any reboot - If the KVM focus is not on the server, it will go through a proper shutdown then it seems to just sit. When KVM focus is changed to the server the server will load up BIOS and boot normally. If a reboot is issued with KVM focus on the server and left on the server it will reboot normally.
Does the NetServer not function with KVM?

Re: HP NetServer LH 6000 issues with KVM
Hello Greg,
This "focus" issue has been seen with some Netservers and Belkin KVM switches. Unfortunately a fix was never found. Netservers will work properly with some KVM switches, but there is apparently a communication problem with at least some of the Belkin KVMs.

Re: HP NetServer LH 6000 issues with KVM
I have never got Belkin KVM's to function
with more than 2 Hp Netservers or Dl380's.
Not even their enterprise KVM's.
I once hooked two KVM's in series to buffer
Video because when a third video source
from a netserver or a DL was plugged in
it killed the video from the other two
servers. When only using two servers I can
force the KVM's to function by Powering down, removing the line cord's and wating 30 seconds and plugging them back in and cold booting. However, the scroll lock
key (used for selecting input) and num lock
keys are very sluggish.(about 2 second delay). The remote user (terminal services)
works good on win2k server and win2003 server. I need to use KVM's because our security software (network Client / server security for computers in domain) prevents itself from being used from terminal services and the icons in the tray or the programs do not show up.
Does any one know a 4 port KVM switch that
works with Netserver and DL servers?
