HP Netserver LH Pro SCSI does not boot

We formatted the SCSI Drives with the Raid-Bios(ctrl-m) added a new config and initialized them. Installed Win2000 and the Drive does not boot !?
Is there a Installation Instruction ?

Re: HP Netserver LH Pro SCSI does not boot

Hi Marc,

Did the windows installation successfully completed? if so when you boot the server where does it stop or what is the last thing you see on the screen?

If Windows 2000 installation was not successful, you might have missed loading the raid controller driver manually by pressing F6 when installation started.

Good Luck

Re: HP Netserver LH Pro SCSI does not boot

Hmmm.... I' having the same problem. The Installation of w2K ran through without any error message. Well, I failed to do the F6 option for third party raid controllers - but which controller should I take and where do I find it???

Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: HP Netserver LH Pro SCSI does not boot

What RAID card is installed? HP does support Windows 2000 Server on the LH Pro with the integrated SCSI or with NetRAID. However...

The original NetRAID (D4943A), NetRAID-1, and Mylex controllers are not supported under Windows 2000 by HP. There are known issues with trying to get Windows 2000 to work with these older RAID controllers.
If you have one of these older NetRAID or Mylex cards, you may want to search the Netserver forum for previous postings on this issue. Other users have had mixed success in getting it to work. I'd recommend the Advanced Search page which allows selecting a specific forum, then using keywords:

To determine if your problem is the RAID card, simply attach the drives to the integrated SCSI & see if the W2000 install will work.
