LC 2000 Boot Help
I have just aquired a Lc 2000 U3 (used) and need to get it running. What are the default switch settings? The machine powers on, and the fans and lights are running, but i can't get any visual from any monitor. I have switched the #5 switch on and off to attempt to clear the CMOS which proved to not change a thing. All of the switches are pressed down as of now. The machine itself will not power on or off by use of the "on button" but only by inserting and removing the power cord. Please help a.s.a.p

Re: LC 2000 Boot Help
Hi Scott ,
1.Do you have the manual of LC2000 server.
You can have a look on the Jumper setting page. And can find out which jumper needs to reset the BIOS.
2. If you open the side cover , a Diagram will be available with the Jimper settings.
3. As you said , you are not getting any display on monitor but fans and LED are running.
i) Swith of the system , (may be with pulling out the power chord , if it doesnot.
ii) Check Memory , CPU and PCI Cards are fixed properly , in the system.
4. Few server comes with 2 display card , one inbuilt and one with PCI/AGP card. Check you have connected the monitor VGA socket at correct place.
5. Switch on the server and verify again , are u getting display.!
update..
Cheers ,
Raj.

Re: LC 2000 Boot Help
I have the same problem here, the lc 2000 u3
each I have "died" with no aparent reason.
Like you did "The machine powers on, and the fans and lights are running, but i can't get any visual from any monitor."
I have done the reset of switch 5, 6 and 7
( 7 -> each for some strange reason HP have a swicth for Emergency Recovery ).
I'm getting no results, I removed all pci cards ( just one scsi for the array ) and the servers does not have a external video card.
Server leds: Power/Disk/PCICard are ON , the others leds are off.
Can't understand why it does not show up on monitor.
Any answer or ideia would be great.

Re: LC 2000 Boot Help
Hi Guys,
I have seen this symptom several times. You turn the server on, fans spin up, server has power, but it doesn't POST. No POST Beep, etc. The first thing I recommend is to disconnect the front panel while it's powered up. Sometimes it is a problem with the power or reset switch. Alternatively, try pulling out all the RAM. It should generate a beep code. If so, it is likely the system board, if not, possibly the CPU. Just be sure to rule out the front panel before buying a new processor.
Good luck,
