LC2000 Network card problems
I just taken over support for a LC2000 server running win2k sp2. It has dual processors and 1Gb ram and 3x18Gbyte SCSI disks on a raid controller.
I would like to install a second network card to connect to a router and use Winproxy to share internet connection ( currently on a ISDN modem).
The problem is I try to install the card, windows finds the it and installs the drivers but I cant use the card because windows indicates the new card is not configured properly or has a problem.
Also the existing onboard N/W is working okay, but I cannot get access to the properties (greyed out) in the network properties window. The option is there are to install and uninstall.
There are drivers for Microsoft Network
TCP/IP and
Deterministic Network Enhancer.
The ultimate goal is to use the router for outgoing, internet and email, the modem for remote access.
Any ideas?
Should I uninstall the existing n/w components, and hopefully re-install the existing and new.
The server has a lot of data and is used all day by 15 clients, so I don't have the chance to have the server down for long.
regards
Malcolm
