LC3 RAID Upgrade Problem
When I boot the Server with the new drives installed the RAID card will not detect them. I've tried clearing the current configuration & doing a Detect but they don't show up. When I reload the configuration & put the old drives back in everything works.
So questions: should the LC3 automatically assign SCSI IDs and should it be able to recognise 36GB drives?
Any help will be appreciated!
Steve.

Re: LC3 RAID Upgrade Problem
The SCSI id's are automatically attributed to the disks depending on the position they have, so this shouldn't be a problem (your old 9 gb disks don't have also the scsi jumper, do they?). I'm not sure if the new disks you have are supported, but try to put one disk at a time in the Netserver and run a detect in the NetRaid Menu (Ctrl+M). What happens sometimes is that a bad disk can make all the others to "disappear".

Ricardo

Re: LC3 RAID Upgrade Problem
Try to cable up to the embedded SCSI controller on the LC3 and see if the hard drives detect. Also tell us the model number of the 36gb hdds. The LC3 never supported any hard drives over 18gb.
Ciao,
Greg

Re: LC3 RAID Upgrade Problem
The drives have a model number MAN3367MC, Part number CA05904-B200. There is a sticker with HP-H36.OPU10/K3 on the drive as well.
It is a Ultra 160 SCSI/SCA2/LVD drive.
Is there a Knowledgebase article / pointer to the fact that the LC3 will only take up to 18GB HDs?
Regards
Steve
