LH-II ide controller support ?

lh-II have one ide controler . i want to know any one used two ide devices with the same single de controller... bcz the orignal ide wire only got one connector?

Unfortunatelly i have never done that before but i think it will be all right due to Standard IDE interface supportability:)

BTW:If you are going to install HDD i advise you that the capability of HDD will be less then 8G.

Hi,

I can't find any relevant documentation but I don't think that the BIOS is setup to accept hard drives on the IDE controller of this server.

I think it is setup to read only, but not to write. This allows CDROM drives to work, but not Had drives. Again, I don't have the official HP reasoning, but I do know they won't support IDE drives on MOST Netservers.

wt i had tested it dont detects ise cdrom or ide-hd after the post when OS gets loaded OS recognise it as the new added h/w

another thing i used maxtor 40gb ide-hd with that controller..worked fine np
