LH Pro - need help with upgrading cpu
I have two LH pro's with single 200 Mhz Chips in them. I would like to add an additional cpu to each one. I understand that i need a VRM for each proccessor. my question is this, do i need a "special" vrm or can i buy any used (and hopefully working)vrm off of ebay or somthing of the sorts, or do i need to get s specific one? Also, does the stepping code need to be the same on each chip? any help or advice would be great.
Thanks
Andy

Re: LH Pro - need help with upgrading cpu
It is not an absolute requirement that the stepping code match between the CPU's but I do not recommend it. There are too many chances for flaky oddball errors.
If the two existing chips match, put them both in one server and buy a new pair for the other server.
Any legitimate source for the CPU should also supply the matching VRM to go with it.

Paul
