lh3000 reboot problems
Our lh3000r does not reliably reboot, instead occassionally filling the screen with random character graphics (blinking etc.) It may reboot with a press of the reset switch, or it may need a power cycle to get going again.
As this is going to be a 24/7 server, I'd like to fix it. I have yet to check the firmware versions etc. but was wondering if this was a common problem and seen previously by forum members, before I begin chasing my tail.
Thanks in advance,
Paul

Re: lh3000 reboot problems
Paul,
This is, of course, not a common problem. Please post more information so we can provide useful input.
When does this symptom happen in the boot process? i.e. is this the only thing that ever appears on the screen?
How is the server configured? Memory, cpu's, optional cards on the I/O?
At first glance it sounds like a hardware problem.

Re: lh3000 reboot problems
I would recommend contacting HP for technical support, we do want to resolve this issue quickly for you.
Online chat support is available at:
http://instantsupport.hp.com
(have the serial number & product number of the server ready)
or call for support at 970-635-1000, then option # 1.

Re: lh3000 reboot problems
Thanks for the advice - turns out that re-seating the system board has solved the problem. If my memory serves me, this started occuring after we'd relocated the server.
Warmest regards,
Paul
