LH6000 / NetRaid Express issue
4th Drive in RAID-5 not responding. Replaced drive with same model/part. Formatted new drive in NEtRaid Express Tools, Marked as HotSwap, but system did not rebuild automatically or manually. System reboots to "OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND"
Now new drive lists itself as Logical Drive 1 (was intedned to be part of Logical Drive 0).
1 - How to remove/delete Logical Drive 1
2 - How to rebuild as replacement for last drive (previous non-responding dirve never showed up as FAILED)?
Thanks.

Re: LH6000 / NetRaid Express issue
You can use NetRAID Assistant to delete the last array created (the Logical Drive 1).
It sounds like the 4th drive might be hanging the whole array which is preventing you from booting to the OS. If the system **is** hanging while inititalizing the 4th drive in array 0 during POST, then shut down the system & just remove the drive. Then try booting to the OS: if all goes well the 4th drive should now be failed and you will be able to boot to the OS.
Once you are in the OS, install NetRAID Assistant if you don't already have it, then delete the last array (array 1). This should enable you to get the new drive to rebuild as part of the existing RAID5 array.
If you don't have NetRAID Assistant, you can download the tool from the LH 6000 downloads page on HP.com. NetRAID Express tools will not allow you to delete the last logical drive.
LH 6000 Downloads page:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=19774&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=50440&prodTypeId=15351
NOTE: the NetRAID Utitility (aka NetRAID Assistant) is only available for Windows NT/2000 Server(might work in 2003 if you have that loaded) and a few other operating systems such as SCO Unix and Novell Netware 5.x.

Re: LH6000 / NetRaid Express issue
Thanks Alicia...
Only problem is, that the drive hangs, and if I remove, I get OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND and the system halts.
Any other ideas?

Re: LH6000 / NetRaid Express issue
Can you reply back with the complete properties of your RAID 5 array?
