Re: LHII NETSERVER

Stuart,

I just got one myself without the CD Navigator.

What I did was to upgrade the bios, and firmware. From there I use the ECU disk to setup my bios configuration the way I wanted (boot from floppy).

In your case you access the NetRaid to format and setup the disks to RAID 0,1,3,5. If the disks are online and they don't show errors use the installation disks from WinNT or Win2000 to setup and format the partitions the desired way.

You should be fine with WinNT4, as this one was able to recognize all my hardware. Im having issues with Win2000, as the NIC's and video display are not working.

To setup with NT4 use the floppy disks(3), setup manually when trying to recognize the hardware, have the HP NT4 drivers on hand, select NetRaid 1 if that is your version, select SCSI adaptec 7880 if that is your scsi card, then atapi ide cd from the list.

That work for me.

Re: LHII NETSERVER

Another thing to try before updating the BIOS, is clearing the config. There should be a block of swtiches on the system board with the server off, place switch 3 in the on position, then power on the server. At the end of post, power off the server. Place Switch 3 back in the off position. Boot server with BIOS update diskette, update BIOS. Then boot to the ECU to cofigure it. Here is a link to all the files you will need for this server:
