Re: Linux tools for Netraid and netserver lp1000r
NetRaid is based on LSI Logic Megaraid, and better known by that name in the Linux world.
I think the megaraid driver (included in most recent Linux distributions) reports some status information in the /proc pseudo-filesystem. I don't recall the exact path and can't check at the moment, but it is probably somewhere under /proc/scsi or /proc/driver.
HP doesn't seem to offer any Linux utilities for lp1000r, but Dell has some Megaraid tools for Linux available:
http://linux.dell.com/storage.shtml#megaraid

Re: Linux tools for Netraid and netserver lp1000r
Thanks for the useful link. I was looking at /proc/scsi/scsi folder on my system and this was the details I received:
Attached devices:
Host: scsi2 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00
Vendor: MegaRAID Model: LD0 RAID5 69462R Rev: H
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Host: scsi2 Channel: 04 Id: 11 Lun: 00
Vendor: SDR Model: GEM318 Rev: 0
Type: Processor ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Not very confident that I can download any of the Dell management Utilities to monitor the state with the above. Any ideas?
regards
Jon

Re: Linux tools for Netraid and netserver lp1000r
There is a hard disk temperature utility called hddtemp (http://www.guzu.net/linux/hddtemp.php).
javelin:/var/log # hddtemp /dev/hda
/dev/hda: IC35L060AVV207-0: 35°C
Look at GKRELLM too - its quite nifty....
