Mylex 960PL RAID controller in Win 2k
I have a hp LH Pro netserver and am having problems installing win 2k to a 2 Gig partition on my RAID card. The install goes fine (can see all arrays in the select partition screen) until it needs to reboot. I remove all cd's and floppys before reboot. After reboot, I get "A Disk Error occurred". Mylex tells me that I have an IRQ problem but they are not sure if the drivers for the 960PL are on the win2k disk. Hp tells me that it should work fine. Any help would be great.

Re: Mylex 960PL RAID controller in Win 2k
Certainly, the LH Pro supports Windows 2000 and the LH Pro supports the Mylex controller, however, HP does not have Windows 2000 drivers for the Mylex card. If you want to use a HP disk array controller in that server running Windows 2000, you may have to step up to the Netraid 1si/3si cards. HP does supply NT 4.0 drivers for the Mylex card if you want to go that route.
Assuming that drivers for the Mylex card are on the Windows 2000 cd-rom, and Mylex is correct that there is an IRQ conflict, try removing cards that are not necessary for the install. Also make sure that there are no cards in pci slot 8. Move the dac to slot 9 if you can.

I have the same but when i make the 1e partition 1200MB (or less thean 2048) it works fine. After the install off w2k i have used partition magic to create the second disk (or 1 big disk)
good luck.
