netraid 4m
I have a win2000 cluster based on 2 lt6000r, with an external rs/12 and netraid 4m scsi controllers. I have 4 discs to hold data, and another 4 discs to mirror the data discs. Since the rs/12 only permits two connections, I have all discs (data and mirror) on the same channel. What I would like to know is if this can cause any kind of performance bottleneck in disc access, for I have the data and the mirror on the same channel, which possibly means the system cannot write to both discs at the same time - am I right about this?
If so, I'd like to knwo how can I test the performence degradation I'm now experiencing - how can I disconnect the mirror to see the performance I'll get without it, and how can I later redo the mirror.
Thanks

Re: netraid 4m
Hi,
I can not help you with numbers but i know this rule:
more than 4-5 disks in one SCSI-chain might decrease performance because the SCSI-chain might be overloaded.
One SCSI chain is a Single Point Of Faillure (SPOF) why?
Hope this will help,
Gideon
