NetRaid Controller on tc2110
Hi guys/gals,
We have an HP tc2110 server, with 2 Hard Drives (18.2Gb each). We have obtained a Netraid Controller for it, to enable us establish a mirror facility. Do I just install the controller in the server, re-boot it and expect it to recognise the new hardware addition and guide me to complete the installation or is it more complicated than I have described it. Anybody want to help?
Thanks in advance

Re: NetRaid Controller on tc2110
Which controller is it? You will have to reinstall the OS, as a new driver is used. You could try to repair the OS, and load the new driver, but I have never seen this done and don't know if it works.

Re: NetRaid Controller on tc2110
Ken,
I've migrated to the NetRaid controller from the Symbios controller before. It isn't supported by HP but it can be done. On your original controller you need to boot to the OS and load the NetRaid Driver. Then once it is loaded you power down and cable off the NetRaid controller. Then boot into Ctrl-M and set up a Raid 0 on the single hdd ID 0 (your boot drive) DO NOT INITIALIZE. Then you should be able to reboot into your NOS. Then you can use NetRaid assistant inside the NOS and establish a Raid 1. Obviously make sure you have a backup before attempting because if it doesn't work you'll have to do a fresh install and restore from backup.
Ciao,
Greg
