NetServer 5/100 LC
Heya All,
I just bought one of these old NetServers and was wondering if anyone knows what socket the pentium processor users? I am pretty sure its either socket 5 or 7 I just dont know which.
(if I have to live with 100mhz of processor for much longer I'm taking it out in the desert for target practice)

Re: NetServer 5/100 LC
The LC plus supported CPU P166.. not a huge improvement over the 100's... I couldn't imagine using it for much more than a proxy server...

Re: NetServer 5/100 LC
I have a netserver LC and depending on the processor card you can go to either 166Mhz or 133Mhz. If I remember correctly you can upgrade your 100Mhz to a 133Mhz without swapping out the processor card. I upgraded mine to 133Mhz and had to download a new BIOS to get it to recognize the new processor.

Re: NetServer 5/100 LC
Thank you for your assistance.
My real interest was whether it would support an AMD socket 7 processor. I have always doubted that it would but was curious to see at least if it was a 7. I might just go ahead and stuff one in for the fun of it - they cost practically nothing anyway.
