netserver 5/166 lc
I am having two problems. I have aquired a netserver from a yard sale and when I boot up it checks the memory and then on the next screen at the top it says System Error and that is it.

Re: netserver 5/166 lc
A yard sale?
First remove all cards from the server. Next try to clear the CMOS by flipping switch 3 to the OFF position. By default all switches should be ON except Switch 6. Since this server is Old also go replace the system battery from your neighborhood battery dealer. With Switch 3 in the Off position, power on.. you should get a system cleared message. Then Power off and put 3 back to the ON position.
Then download the ECU from here:

Boot to the ECU and save and exit.
Ciao,
Greg

Re: netserver 5/166 lc
I had the same problem. What I did was replace the ram, and it worked fine. Try a different type of ram.
In the end, Enjoy...

Re: netserver 5/166 lc
Dale,
Sunshine has a good point - the Netserver LC requires 60ns or 70ns parity DRAM simms. Make sure the ram loaded is of the 36-bit wide variety and that each bank has matching pairs.
Regards,
Dave
