Netserver 800e losing time
Hi all,
I've got a client who's running NetWare 5.1 on a Netserver 800e that's losing time.
My first response was to replace the CMOS battery on the system board, and while it's better, it's still losing time pretty badly. In 4 days it's lost about 2 hours in all.
If they had a "live" Internet connection, I'd just use NTP to keep the server clock in sync, but the problem is they don't.
Can anyone help me resolve this issue?
Thanks,
Mark

Re: Netserver 800e losing time
Hello Mark,
Novell has had issues in the past with its timesync.nlm. What service pack are you at? If not the latest, you might want to update.
Also, if you have a weekend where you can take the server down, boot to a DOS floppy and see if it loses time. If it does, then you know the issue is with the hardware and not software.
If it is the hardware, get Diag Tools from http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=20916&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=45939&prodTypeId=15351&swEnvOID=54#194 and run it to see if it can locate the source of the problem.
