Netserver DAT72
Once again I'm stuck with cross Proliant / Netserver support, and have run through the HP web site to no success.
So here we go with the questions for the masses;
1 - Is there a compatibility matrix for Netservers with Proliant storage options?
2 - Is the Proliant DAT72 Internal supported in the Netserver LH4? I guess you can whack a PCI SCSI card in and hang an External off that, but I would like to know whether the LH4 bus can support the DAT72's directly please,
Thanks for any help,

Re: Netserver DAT72
Yes, you can attach your DAT72 directly to the lh4, there is actualy no documentation because the lh4 is now an old product and the DAT72 a new one, but the caracteristics of the DAT72 are similar to the DAT40, the interface is lvd wide.
You have on the LH4, two scsi channels that can be set to raid indipendently, if you select one for netraid, the second is free for the tape.
The second channel have two connectors, electricaly isolated, one is LVD, the second is SE.
Just plug in the LVD connector to have the correct interface. (even if you connect on the SE, the DAT72 will work, but in SE mode that will limit the burst rate)

Re: Netserver DAT72
Could you please tell me if the DAT72 is supported in the LH3000. (!)
I am trying to find the Tech Specs for the Lh3000 to compare the connectors to the LH4 to try and work it out that way....
Thanks,

Re: Netserver DAT72
there is two scsi shannel that could be set as raid or standard scsi, but not independently, they will change toghether . and now there is a dedicated chip (controller scsi adaptec) that will support tapes on his channel. It is a 68 pins connector.
