Netserver e 800 (No operating system found)

I have a Netserver e 800 and i cant access my scsi disks it says "No operating system found".
I have upgraded the system bios to the latest one succesfully. 4.06.18 PQ
And i have read the issue about the electrical fluctuations.
Could the problem be in my scsi adapter? Do i need to update the firmware?

Please help me!

Re: Netserver e 800 (No operating system found)

what is the os installed on your server??
if it is NT4 or W2K, try with a Fault tollerance disk, booting from this disk will bypass MBR issue as well as boot partition issues.

You can also try with a dos bootable disk and mad a FDISK, just ot see if disk is accessible and Partions caould be seens, do not clear or create any partition,, exit the command without saving, or you will lost your data if they are still there

Re: Netserver e 800 (No operating system found)

did you tryed to check the boot order in the bios? or perform a clear CMOS.

Did you try with a Fault Tollerance Floppy boot?

Re: Netserver e 800 (No operating system found)

I have just solved the problem by clearing the CMOS. The controller is now posted and working properly.

This is what i did.
1. Upgrade to the latest BIOS 4.06.18 PQ.
2. Cleared the CMOS with switch number 4 (ON) and rebooted twice.
3. Shut down the server.
4. Changed the switch setting to OFF.
5. Started the server and everything works fine again.

Thanks for your help!

The boot order had changed, you could have got it corrected from bios also.
