Netserver E40 CPU Problems
I upgraded my Netserver E40 180Mhz PPro to a 200Mhz PPro however at boot I get the following message "0B00-0A: Missing BIOS update data block for Pentium Pro CPU" I flashed the BIOS to the latest version but it did not help. Someone told me I have to use the Navigator CD for some reason, but I don't have the Navigator CD. I can't find it on HP's web site to buy it either. Somebody help.

Re: Netserver E40 CPU Problems
SOunds as if the System board and BIOS do not support the CPU. THe CPU is a 200 MHz Pentium Pro Processor (P54 with 256k Internal Cache)?

Re: Netserver E40 CPU Problems
Hi,
The reason you are getting the message is becauser you are most likely using a non-HP CPU right? HP writes their BIOS' for their specific CPU's.
Having the Navigator CD shouldn't make a difference, if you flashed with the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
The last poster seemed to have a workaround, you could try that I suppose. The only other option I can think of is to try and secure a HP CPU instead. You can go here: http://www.pmount.com/options_choi.asp?gc=15&choi=19&tt=E40%20OPTIONS
They have 3 on hand for a price of $295. HP recommends this site to a lot of their out of warranty customers.
