I would like to upgrade a NetServer E50 that has 2 4.2 GB SCSI disks with a 72 GB SCSI disk. Does anyone have any experience doing this or can anyone tell me if it's likely to work?
HP Support has never tested it and doesn't support it, but of course at the time the E50 was sold there the available disks weren't that large.
Thanks.

Re: NetServer E50 with large SCSI disk
You should have no problems if you select a compatible drive.
And you are correct about HP's use of the word "supported". Supplied is a better word, HP never 'supplied' anyother drives for the Netserver line.

Solution
If the newer drive is not recognized in the Netserver E50, check the drive for an option for force single-ended, which disables the LVD. This has allowed some newer faster drives to work in the older Netserver systems. Good luck with this.
