Robert, Hi, you should find BIOS update & diagnostics etc. @

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=15527&taskId=135&locale=en_US&docIndexId=178551&taskId=135&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=50441&swEnvOID=54

but I have also appended current BIOS .. (attachedâ ¦)

Error message means (I guess U know this..)

0B0X Your system is missing the Microcode Update data block for the Pentium II microprocessor. You must correct this problem in order to avoid possible malfunction or reliability problems.> To correct the problem, update your BIOS by running the flash utility from your HP Navigator CD-ROM. To do this, insert the HP Navigator CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive and power-cycle your system. If updating your BIOS does not clear this error, contact your service representative.

Re: netserver LC 2

Hi,

It is also advisable to clear your CMOS before flashing your BIOS.

Use switch number 5 on your dip switch pack on the system board.

Since you don't have a Navigator CD, if you download the BIOS as referneced by the above poster, execute the downloaded file and it will create a bootable floppy for you.

After clearing the CMOS, you will have to go into BIOS with F6 and then hit F10 to save defaults and exit. Now would be a good time to put in the bootable BIOS flash disk.

Hope this helps,

Mark

Re: netserver LC 2

Hi Robert,

In answer to your question about the Navigator CD, they are no longer available for purchase through normal distribution channels. If you really want one, you will have to get it through an HP reseller. That is why everyone is telling you do download the update from the Support and Drivers page of HP.com.

Also, to add to Mark's post, clear the CMOS before flashing as he suggests but also re-load setup defaults (by pressing F9 from within the CMOS) after flashing. I have experienced problems with option ROM's failing to load after flashing.

Hope this helps,
Sean

Re: netserver LC 2

Sean,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when you go into the BIOS and hit F10, it automatically saves default settings and exits BIOS.

I've never had any problesm with this method and have never had to hit F9.

Mark

Re: netserver LC 2

Hi Mark,

In the CMOS, F9 is to load setup defaults and F10 is to Save and Exit.

See you next week,
