Netserver LC 5/66 SIMM upgrade problem (EDO)

I bought 128MB from transcend in four modules (one module is 8Mx32, so i asume it's non-parity) and installed them into my old netserver. however it failed. I've read all the recommendations about SIMMs but i don't think i've broken any. I've read somewhere in this forum that EDO RAMs can cause the system to fail. What are the exact requirements for the Netserver LC 5/66 SIMM upgrade?

Do it has to be ECC, Parity, Non-Parity... EDO, non-EDO etc.?

A. The unit's Firmware and arch. was never design for naything larger than a 32MB SIMM.
B. The 32MB is a Parity SIMM Memory 70nS, 36 Bit D3578A/D2298-69001 or the D3593A ECC version.

You can still find the ECC used and the non-ecc new from Simple I think.

Re: Netserver LC 5/66 SIMM upgrade problem (EDO)

i know that the system wasn't build to anything larger than 32MB - the questions are...

a) it's possible to somehow configure or upgrade bios to accept EDO SIMMs?

b) do i have to use 36bit parity SIMMs or are the 32bit ok?
