Hey guys,
After trying unsuccessfully to load Windows 2000 AS onto my Netserver LD Pro, I wanted to change the BIOS to boot to the CD-ROM drive, as to not have to waste 30 minutes booting off of the 4 boot disks. As a sidenote: I was getting an error I thought was floppy related and wanted to eliminate some possibilites.
Anyways, I ran the ECU program, and didn't see any regular options (what I'm used to is somewhat newer PC's with BIOS, say the last 4-5 years). I did see an option for "boot to flexible disk" and I disabled that, hoping that it would go to the IDE CD-ROM. Instead, it goes now directly to the hard drive. Upon a reboot, and to change my options back, I'm dumbfounded. The computer no longer will boot the the floppy drive.
Current plan of attack is to unplug the PSU and motherboard battery in hopes the BIOS will reset itself. I'm waiting for that now.
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Solution
The best way to reset the BIOS is to clear the CMOS on the system board. With the server unplugged, flip switch 3 to the off position. Then power the server on until you get the configuration cleared message on the monitor. Then power the server back off and put switch 3 back to the on position. (put back a new battery in before doing this also)
Once you complete this boot to the ECU diskette to run option 3 to save and exit. Booting from CD is a default setting even on this old netserver as it would have come with a bootable navigator CD.
Next flash the bios to the latest or reflash if you are at the latest to make sure there is no bios corruption. Grab the Bios here: http://h20004.www2.hp.com/soar_rnotes/bsdmatrix/matrix50444en_US.html
As for running Server 2000 on the LDpro it does show as certified on the LDpro http://h20004.www2.hp.com/soar_rnotes/bsdmatrix/matrix50444en_US.html
However server 2000 is not certified on the original NetRaid controller. What controller are you using?
CIao,
Greg

Re: Netserver LD Pro/BIOS/Boot Sequence Help?
Greg,
Thanks a ton! :)
That solved the problem completely. Win2k is installing.
Anyways, I did see the jumpers/switches on the board, and I messed with the BOOT one, but I never put 2 and 2 together that the CONFIG and the BIOS were one in the same. Anyways, she's up and I greatly appreciate your answer.
