Netserver LD Pro Booting Problem

I'm unable to get it to boot from any other disk other than the floppy disk. The drives l have tried to get it to boot off are the SCSI CD-ROM, an IDE CD-ROM and the hot swappable SCSI HD. I have attempted to fix this by resetting the BIOS, flashing the BIOS, but nothing has changed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Netserver LD Pro Booting Problem

Have you been able to boot off the BIOS Setup diskette (ECU Program) and check the BIOS settings?
The older Netserver L-series use a software program to access the BIOS setup (there is no F2 option). This software can be found on the HP web site by:

1. Go to www.hp.com
2. Select "Support & Drivers"
3. Select "Download drivers & software"
4. Enter the desired Netserver model. Example: ld pro
5. Select "Cross operating system (BIOS, Firmware, etc.)"

Does the SCSI CD-ROM drive banner during POST? Do the lights come on?

I have been using the BIOS disk to check the settings. The computer does detects both the SCSI CD-ROM and HD.

Re: Netserver LD Pro Booting Problem

1. What type of CDs have you tried to boot from?

2. Do you have a DOS boot diskette with FDISK? If so, can you run FDISK and create a small DOS boot partitin (50 MB is plenty on the hard drive. Will it then boot from this DOS partition?
