Netserver LH 3 Voltage Sensor

Dear All:
Anyone can help ??
From the "Instant Top Tools" software the "Server Voltage Sensor" page, it shows the "Sys Bd -5v" , the Reading is "-4.33 Volts". Also from the "Front Control Panel LCD" , it shows there is a "over-voltage" error message. The LED light up in "yellow" abnormal status.
Is it my Power Supply failed ? Do I need to replace it ?

Your help is highly appreciated !! Thanks !!

Chris

Re: Netserver LH 3 Voltage Sensor

hi possibly or it could be the power managemnt platform board (large base board) in the server or faulty VRM?
what colour are the leds on the psu's at the back? If its green then they should be ok and they go red when faulty

Re: Netserver LH 3 Voltage Sensor

Hi Andy:
The PSU light up in "Green".
Last year the VRM failed, the Front Panel LCD shown the VRM Failed message & a RED LED lighted up.
Strangely, after the LH 3 boot up within 10 seconds, the Front Panel LED goes from "yellow" to "Green".

So, it may be the large base board failed. How can I test it ? Pls. tech me. Thanks.

Re: Netserver LH 3 Voltage Sensor

hi chris,

First i would start be checking all the f/w and Bios updates are applied and upto date from the web.
Then run the diag tools discs from the navigator cd or download them and run them.
This may throw some pointers in the right direction.

failing that theres no way really of testing the board in the server that im aware of. It would be a case of swapping it and seeing if that cures your problem.
you could also bring it down to a base config for testing other parts if needed.
