NetServer LH Pro - boot from IDE HDD

Hi!

It's my first time with HP NetServer.
I'd like to boot HP NetServer LH Pro from IDE HDD.

I've downloaded: "HP NetServer LH Pro ECU".
Before I updated BIOS to latest version.

I have attached:
1) 1.44MB floppy;
2) original SCSI CD-ROM (bootable);
3) IDE HDD 2GB;
there are no SCSI drives attached;

I _CAN_ boot from floppy (Linux bootdisk) then tell SYSLINUX to mount /dev/hda1 as root partition -> and it works. I mean Linux works from IDE HDD.

I _CAN'T_ boot directly from IDE HDD. There is no BIOS information about IDE HDD detected. Althought IDE HDD is present and working (can boot throught floppy) it can't boot as standalone device.

I haven't founded any option in ECU which helped me to solve this problem.

Is there a chance to boot this server from IDE HDD?

thanks in advance;

As I know you CAN NOT boot from IDE device.
Only SCSI DISK can be bootable device.

Hi Adam,
As per my knowledge , You can't boot HP Netserver LH pro with an IDE device ( CDROM/HDD). It may be possible by putting a PCI add -on IDE controller.

Hi!

Thanks for these information.
I will try to use add-on IDE controller.
