Netserver LH3 additional cage installation
Hi,
I have just installed a second cage into a NSLH3. The primary [left] is connected to channel A and the secondry [right] is connected to channel B. When rebooting the server after install the system tries to boot from the newly installed cages HDDs and this is not where the O/S is installed. Please can you help me with the settings required to ensure that the system boots from the original O/S location on the primary cage.
Many thanks for your time and help.

Re: Netserver LH3 additional cage installation
hi
be sure the cable of the first cage is connected on the first channel of the netraid (the lower one :channel A), be sure to have enabled the second chanel for netraid controller and not as scsi channel (BIOS). be sure also to not have connected any tape device on the SE conector(it is on the same chanel than the B channel). In the netraid express tools, check for your configuration, you have to found the right disk on the right channel

Re: Netserver LH3 additional cage installation
Both cages are now recognised and all hard drives are visible. A new raid 5 array has been configured using all the 6 drives in the newly installed cage.
THE PROBLEM:
When transfering large amounts of data from the primary cage to the secondary cage the server will lock up after a arbitrary amout of time [and data]. A power off and back on again is required. The firmware for the NSLH3 has been updated and so has the firmware for the Netraid and the Backplane. The operating system is NT4.0 server service pack 4.
Any ideas on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Andrew
