Netserver LM beep and LCD codes
Hello everyone,
I recently purchased 2 older Netserver LM systems from my school that I plan to use for a small website I run.
I have an LM 5/66 and an LM 5/100, when I try to start up either machine, they give 1 beep, then 3 beeps in a row, a slight pause, then 3 more beeps. The little LCD panel on the front displays 740:756.
I am new to the Netserver series, and I cant seem to find a listing of BIOS/beep codes anywhere on netserver.hp.com
If someone could point me in the direction of a code list, I would be very grateful.
Thanks in advance,
Matt

Re: Netserver LM beep and LCD codes
hi here is the info you need
http://netserver.hp.com/support/parts_service/error_mess/error_mess_tpl.asp?pid=LM
--0740, A failure on the first 64KB RAM chip or its data lines has been detected - bit 0 through bit 15.
--0756 A failure on the first 64KB RAM chip or its data lines has been detected - multi-bit.
A) Reseat first bank of SIMMs. B) If an FExx was reported, replace defective SIMM.
C) Replace system board.
http://netserver.hp.com/support/parts_service/beep_codes/beep_codes_tpl.asp?pid=LM
1-3-3 1st 64 KB RAM chip or data line failure 0AH FATAL 291
probably you need to replace your memory
bye

Re: Netserver LM beep and LCD codes
Thanks alot, for some reason I couldnt find those anywhere.
Does anyone know exactly what type of RAM I should be using? I have a bunch of simms, but no combination of any of them seems to work.
Also, is there some sort of LM technical/service manual available with jumper settings, BIOS configs and other stuff like that??
Thanks again, I really appreciate the help,
Matt
