Netserver LPr Boot error

I've seen several similar posts, but none quite like my issue.

I just installed more RAM into an Netserver LPr. (Was 64MB and added 3 new 256mb chips)

Upon rebooting, I got the following errors:
0080-51 : Netserver Management Controller Selftest Failure
0090-64 : DIMM management failure

I did the discconnect power for 5 minutes trick with no change.

I then did the clear CMOS trick. Now I get a third error:
0012-34 : Incorrect System Configuration

I was going to try the new BIOS trick, but it doesn't appear to want to read from the floppy or the CD drive.

If I hit F1 to continue despite the error, the server seems to run OK (didn't check to see if floppy or CD were working). It also identifies the new RAM just fine.

I'm out of ideas so anything you have would be much appreciated.

Troy:

You need to re-run your navigator CD and save the new configuration. Anytime you add/move/change the hardware, you need to save the config.

Enjoy!

Re: Netserver LPr Boot error

Installing the Navigator CD is a great Idea. But, unfortunately I don't have a Navigator CD. Is there somewhere I can download this or get this?

Re: Netserver LPr Boot error

Oh yeah, and since it won't boot from a floppy or a CD, I'm not sure if the Navigator Disk will help just yet.

I took the new RAM out and did the 5-minute no power thing, but still get the errors. Shouldn't this have at least fixed it?

Re: Netserver LPr Boot error

hi,
you need to enter in the bios (F2) and exit saving changes, (even if you do not change nothing), this will recalculate the checksum that was lost during the clear CMOS

Re: Netserver LPr Boot error

OK, I'm gaining ground. Hitting F2 got rid of the "0012-34 : Incorrect System Configuration" error. Now I'm just back to the original two errors.

My disk drives are also working.

I'd just like to clear out these errors so the server can auto restart on power failure, etc.

Does it still sound like I need a Navigator CD? Is there some specific file or app I need off this CD? If so, is there somewhere I can get this?

Re: Netserver LPr Boot error

I downloaded the BIOS update utility and ran it. It's been saying "Please Wait ..." for over 20 minutes now. I assume something's gone wrong, but don't knwo what.
