Netserver LPR LEDs not working
The 4 LED (fan/temp/hdd activity/hdd failure)lights on the front right side of my Netserver LPR are no longer working (they don't light up at all).
The system is running fine and has been up 100% of the time for the last 70 days or so without any errors.
Just wondering if the lights going out is a common problem and isolated to just that area, or should I be concerned that the motherboard is begining to fail?
TIA

Re: Netserver LPR LEDs not working
This is a hardware problem, normally, the fan and temp light will on as long as the server is up. HDD activity will only blink if there is any activity.
Please call HP and log a service call to replace the defective part.

Re: Netserver LPR LEDs not working
Did you check the cables that connect the control panel LEDs to the mother board? You might not need a replacement control panel, it might be something as simple as a loose connection.
The status of the indicator LEDs is based on information from the System Event Log (SEL). Have you checked that? You can check the SEL from the operating system if you have either Top Tools or Instant Top Tools installed. Otherwise, you can boot to a NetServer Navigator compatible with your server in order to run the SEL utility. You can also download a DOS version of the utility from here:
http://h20004.www2.hp.com/soar_rnotes/bsdmatrix/matrix50457en_US.html#Utility
If you scroll down a bit on that page, you can also download the installer for HP Instant Top Tools. I would highly recommend that utility since you can install it and run it without having to reboot (only if you have Microsoft Virtual Machine installed). MS VM is required in order to use Instant Top Tools. After installing MS VM, Windows will require a reboot.
You say the server has been up for 70 days without errors. But, do you know if are there, or have been, any errors during POST?
