nmi
hi all
i have inherited an lxe pro.
it works fine but suddenly the screen will flicker and it wil give the error "hardware mal function.NMI:EISA I/O CHKERROR ON board E.Contact your hardware vendor" in blue screen(not an nt error)The OS is windows nt server.
things i have tried
changed the memory borad;changed the memory module.changed the processor board.cleared CMOS.Flashed the BIOS.Upgraded the EISA utility.Tried everything short of replacing system board.
Does it require replacement of board?what is meant by "NMI"
Pls help
thanks and regards
Renjith

Re: nmi
hi
NMI means Non Maskerabke Interrupt
If you have already done all this thinks, and you have removed all the card plugged in the slot pci and eisa, try also to desable all the devices on the mother borad one at a time( serial ports, parallel ports, scsi channels, video) if this doesn't solve, probably you have to change your mother board
bye
